Microwave Bacon

Microwave Bacon

Looking for a quick and healthier way to enjoy bacon? This microwave bacon recipe is a game-changer! Compared to frying bacon in a pan full of hot oil, this method is much lighter and far less messy. In just a couple of minutes, you can go from packet to palate with perfectly cooked bacon that’s crispy and delicious.

Microwave bacon is not only fast but also convenient—no grease splattering all over your kitchen like it does on the stove. Plus, this method has received high praise! In episode 2 of Marco Pierre White’s “The Great British Feast”, the Michelin Star chef served up a microwave bacon butty breakfast to a group of taxi drivers, and they loved it.

Ready to make your own mess-free, mouthwatering microwave bacon? Let’s get started!

You'll Need

  • Microwave safe plate
  • 2 rashers of bacon

Method

Select your microwave oven's power to get the correct timing
Power
Total Cooking Time = 1 mins, 30 secs

  1. Place the bacon rashers flat on a plate and cover with a paper towel
  2. Cook in the microwave oven at full power for around 45 seconds per rasher. i.e 1:30min for 2 rashers
  3. Stand for 1 minute before serving

To Serve Microwave Bacon

Why not serve your microwave bacon in a bread roll, on some toast or with a microwave fried egg. Egg and bacon go hand in hand. To give yourself the illusion that you're being somewhat healthy while you're consuming those lovely rashers of microwave crispy bacon, stick a few lettuce leaves and couple of slices of tomato in with it. Remember, you can't go wrong with a dollop of tomato sauce with this recipe.

Microwave Bacon Tips

If you prefer a "not so crispy" microwave bacon meal, add put a few drops of water into the dish before you begin cooking. Another way is to cover the bacon with a Pyrex lid to trap the moisture.
